Electron Microscopy

What we do

The Electron Microscopy Unit makes available state-of-the art research equipment to the students and staff of the University of Melbourne, as well as the wider community. The Platform combines instrumentation of the Bio21 Molecular Science and Biotechnology Institute and the School of Botany. It operates under the umbrella of the University's Advanced Microscopy Facility. The EMU specialises in meeting the needs of researchers from the Parkville research precinct as well as the wider scientific community. It provides a complementary suite of capabilities, located in or linked to PC2 and pathogen handling capabilities The instrumentation is optimised for biological samples as well as material science and engineering applications
