Applications in Fluorescence Microscopy Symposium

The Applications in Fluorescence Microscopy Symposium will highlight some of the research being performed using Fluorescence Microscopy applications. The symposium will be split into three sections:

Advanced techniques session: Early career researchers will highlight some novel applications that may be of interest in your own research

Poster session: An extended afternoon tea will provide time for poster and trade interactions. ECR and research students are encouraged to submit a poster, with a $100 prize awarded for the best poster. Posters can be submitted during registration or directly to bomp-enquiries@unimelb.edu.au. The abstract submission deadline is 5pm Friday 25th August.

Plenary Session: Presentations by lab heads that use fluorescence microscopy techniques to answer a number of biological questions. The confirmed plenary speakers are:

Prof Leann Tilley: Malaria parasites at super-resolution

Prof Erica Fletcher: Imaging retinal microglial behavior in real time

Prof Steve Petrou: Workflow considerations for Light Sheet Imaging

A/Prof Scott Mueller: Imaging the evolution of the immune responses to infection in vivo

Dr Elizabeth Hinde: FLIM-FRET microscopy of the DNA damage response
