FIJI/Image J for Beginners

FIJI or Image J is an open source java image processing program developed by the NIH. This workshop is aimed at new users of FIJI/Image J and will be spilt into two sections.

Fundamentals of digital imaging: Short lecture covering the relevant information about digital
images (e.g. Pixels, raster, colour, bit depth, file formats, compression, resolution and sampling)

Image preparation: Hands on session looking at the below topics

  • Image Import
  • Image manipulation (merging, pseudo-colouring)
  • Annotation (adding scale bars)
  • Visualisation & presentation of 3D data
  • Visualisation & presentation of timelapse data
