300 kV TEMs

In partnership with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute

Flagship instrument for cryoEM single particle, routinely running at 300kV but with possibilities of changing to 200kV and 100kV on demand.

Equipped with an autoloader for high throughput sample obervation. Equipped with a Falcon 4 direct detector as well as a  Gatan bio quantum energy filter with a K3 direct detector and an upper CETA 4x4k CMOS camera. Also equipped with phase plate for increased contrast of small proteins.

The main applications of this microscope are:

  • Structural analysis of isolated particles (cryo EM single particle)
  • cryo tomography (3D) of cells, tissues or materials

Tecnai F30

Flagship instrument, routinely running at 300kV but with possibilities of changing between 100kV and 300kV on demand.

Equipped with an anti-contaminator and cold stage which allows imaging of quick frozen samples as well as tomography at either room temperature or cryo conditions. Equipped with HAADF STEM detector and a Gatan quantum 965 energy filter amd an upper CETA 4x4k CMOS camera.

The main applications of this microscope are:

  • Structural analysis of isolated particles (cryo EM single particle)
  • Tomography (3D) of cells, tissues or materials at room temperature or in cryo conditions
  • Cryo EM of cells, tissues or materials
  • EFTEM
  • EELS
  • STEM tomography

200 kV TEMs

Talos Arctica

Instrument for cryoEM single particle, routinely running at 200kV but with possibilities of changing between 100kV and 200kV on demand.

Equipped with an autoloader for high throughput sample obervation. Equipped with a Gatan quantum 965 energy filter with a K2 direct detector and an upper CETA 4x4k CMOS camera. Also equipped with phase plate for increased contrast of small proteins.

JEM-F200

Multi purpose high resolution TEM

Equipped with an EDS for imaging of quick frozen samples. Equipped with a SightSKY 19M pixels (5,688x3,336) camera

  • High resolution S/TEM and TEM
  • Elemental Characterisation
  • Structural analysis of isolated particles (cryo EM single particle)
  • Electron tomogrpahy and cryo electron tomographty

CryoEM single particle, routinely running at 200kV. Possibility of access two days per week.

High throughput  cryoTEM instrument, routinely running at 120kV but with possibilities at 80kV on demand.

Equipped with CETA 4x4k CMOS camera and cryo box, fully automated controls
