Support Officer, BOMPKalyan Shobhana completed her Masters in Biotechnology at The University of Melbourne. She has a background in biomedical science and optical microscopy, with a focus on confocal microscopy. In her current role as a Platform Support Officer at the Biological Optical Microscopy Platform, she is responsible for training and research support on the confocal microscopes.
- Jinny Chang

Support Officer, BOMPJinny Chang obtained her Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) from Monash University. With a keen interest in developmental biology, she specialises in confocal and widefield microscopy techniques. In her current role as a Platform Support Officer at the Biological Optical Microscopy Platform, she is responsible for training and research support on the confocal microscopes.
- Dr Sangwon Yoo

Support Officer, BOMPSangWon Yoo completed her PhD in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Melbourne in 2023. Her research focused on investigating the role of neuronal BDNF-TrkB signalling in regeneration of myelin in a murine model of Multiple Sclerosis. She has experience in confocal microscopy, spectral unmixing, and airyscan imaging. In her current role as a support officer at BOMP, she manages researcher training and provides training on confocal microscopes.
- Alejandra Ramirez Munoz

Support Officer, BOMPAlejandra completed her PhD in Neuroscience at The Florey Institute, University of Melbourne, in 2019, where she investigated how abnormal copper chemistry can disturb protein solubility. She has experience in confocal microscopy and super-resolution imaging, including Airyscan and lattice structured illumination microscopy (SIM). In her current role as a Support Platform Officer at the Biological Optical Microscopy Platform, she provides administrative support to facilitate research and trainings within the platform. She is also involved in BOMP’s social media efforts, helping to promote research initiatives, events, and educational resources.
- Benjamin Kroeger

Support Officer, BOMPBenjamin Kroeger completed his PhD at the University of Oxford in 2018. He then moved to Monash University as a postdoctoral Research Fellow, before joining the BOMP team in 2026. His research experience spans cell and developmental biology, genetics, cell signalling, and mechanobiology. He has expertise in a wide range of optical microscopy techniques including widefield, confocal, super-resolution (Airyscan, 3D-SIM), and single molecule tracking.
